Today we hosted yet another insightful webinar in our SRS 2.0. Series. This time we were joined by Anna Haskins from The Good Economy to discuss the implications of the SRS 2.0. and how Housing Associations should prepare themselves to report against it. Here is our brief summary of the discussions.
The webinar began with Anna updating us about the reasons for the development of the SRS 2.0. Firstly, the SRS is designed to highlight the ESG success stories of Housing Associations to promote to lenders why they should invest in Housing Associations. This is why the SRS 2.0. Is focused on reflecting emerging best practices and year-on-year reporting, to show the development of ESG in each organisation.
One concern raised by an attendee was the enforcement of the SRS, which Anna hopes that the involvement of year-on-year reporting will encourage a change. With year-on-year reporting, Housing Associations will notice their lack of movement in certain areas of the SRS, for example if there is no process for reporting on the strategy for Net Zero, that this will be quickly noted and rectified when writing the following years report!
