She is a life member of the Institute of Directors (IoD); and an Associate Member of both the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), and the Institute of Capital Market Registrars (ICMR). Recently, she passed the examinations for membership of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS).

He is a Fellow and Certified Governance Expert from the Chartered Governance Institute, UK (ICSA). Dr. Ashraf is a Professor of Management, Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University. He holds a PhD degree from Manchester University, UK, and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Carleton University, Canada. He further holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Cairo University with highest honors.
Prior to joining Hawkamah, Dr. Ashraf was the Executive Chairman of Egypt Post and before that, the Deputy Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute, the training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt. He was also the founder and Project Manager of the Egyptian Corporate Responsibility Center and the Executive Director of the Egyptian Institute of Directors (EIoD). Dr. Ashraf served as a board member and head of the Audit Committee in a number of listed, non-listed, State Owned and family owned companies and also served as a member of the General Assembly of the Holding Company for Transportation. Dr. Ashraf served as an advisor to the Minister of Investment 2004-2010 in the areas of corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, privatization and restructuring.

OECD Directorate for Financial and Enterprise AffairAlejandra Medina (PhD) is a Financial Economist in the Corporate Governance and Corporate Finance Division of the OECD Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affair. She leads the strategic design and implementation of the OECD Corporate Finance Division’s programmes to enhance relations with partner countries in Asia. She conducts work on capital markets and corporate governance issues, including corporate access to finance, institutional investors, ownership structure and market structures. She has published extensively on the ownership structure of listed companies around the world, and the functioning of capital markets and the conditions for companies to access market-based finance. She has been part of the OECD team advising Italy, Portugal, Croatia and Romania on how to make capital markets better serve the real economy. She also has been part of the team producing the Asia Equity Market Review that follows and analyses trends in Asian public equity markets. Prior to joining the OECD, Dr. Medina taught Corporate Finance at the University of British Columbia in Canada. She most recently held the position of VPfor ESG Corporate Ratings at ISS-ESG, the responsible investment arm of ISS, until October 2021. Her work experience includes analysis of public company disclosures and review of data to provide ESG rating/scoring for various companies, as well as
analysis of Corporate Governance practices. She is also a seasoned team manager, with experience in managing team performance and providing support for development. She was also co-lead of ISS’ Manila Sustainability
