With its ongoing commitment to governance and sustainability, last year Azeus Convene launched its exclusive ESG webinar series for future-forward businesses and leaders. This series of ESG-focused discussions shared practical guidance and insights from industry spokespeople.
With the increasing ESG challenges, the ESG webinar series promoted a better understanding of ESG risks and opportunities through the provision of better information.
Introduced at this exclusive webinar series was the company’s reporting software, Convene ESG, offering companies a faster and easier way to generate their sustainability reports. This ESG reporting software delivers powerful features for tailored and accurate sustainability reports.
This three-part webinar series explored why companies should take sustainability reporting seriously, and how they can keep pace with the growing standards and demand in the ESG landscape.
Given the current SEC ESG requirements, Convene’s ESG Manager and webinar speaker Katherine Pamintuan stressed that, while “external assurance is not yet a requirement, it can guarantee the reliability and accuracy of the report. I also recommend following the reporting principles set by the SEC to better identify what information to put in the report. Make sure to consider factors such as materiality, balance, accuracy, and comparability.”
Webinar guest speaker and Nickel Asia Corporation’s Independent Director Atty. Angelo Valencia also shared his insights on how there should be a system to collect data, track the activities, and align with the standards,
“Find a platform that can help you, whether it’s attuned with GRI, SASB, or TCFD, because digital is the way. With this, there is traceability, a system, and a process that will make your job easier and lessen the frustration of providing a strategic vision for the company.”
Speaking about the significance of internal audit to sustainability reporting, Founder and Principal Consultant for SustainableSG Chan Mun Wei explained, “Companies concerned about external assurance should first focus on releasing a report with internal assurance. Get your internal audit team involved.
They would have to perform an internal audit test, scrutinizing the documentation and process of your ESG report. They also need to check how factual the data is and the quality of the data source. The internal audit review can really help improve the overall quality of reporting.”
The goal of Azeus Convene—with Convene ESG—is to help companies in Asia and globally become champions of sustainability and stay compliant in their respective industries. The company is keen on creating more insightful and content-filled ESG-focused events in the upcoming new year.
