KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – December 9, 2020 – As new work-from-home orders and adjustments are continually imposed, Convene offers Malaysian government entities a digital and paperless meeting solution.
Convene is a multi-awarded and leading paperless meeting solution, providing different organizations a secure and efficient way to resume work amidst the global pandemic. Important documents and files can be uploaded as operations can run smoothly online, without having to compromise employees’ safety as well as the company’s corporate governance.
On October 21, 2020, Trade Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali said in a statement that 10% of the Malaysian workforce will be exempted from its work-from-home order. This covers jobs involving accounting, finance, administration, law, planning, and ICT. However, said workers will be permitted to stay in their respective offices from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., three days a week.
Public Services Department director-general, Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman, said in another statement that each department in the civil service can have a maximum of 30% of their staff working in the office, effective October 22, 2020.
Majority of the Malaysian workforce will still be working from home indefinitely. To properly adhere to these restrictions, Malaysian government entities such as the Ministry of Works / Kementerian Kerja Raya (KKR) and Felda Global Ventures (FGV) Holdings Berhad have turned to paperless board meeting solutions such as Convene.

This new normal definitely comes with road blocks such as being limited to online meetings and needing to have multiple applications to learn and master. To address these concerns and take meeting management a step further, Convene launched its latest feature, Convene AVC (Audio and Video Conferencing.
Convene AVC is a single-screen meeting platform where employees can access all their documents and host their video conference all in one application. This feature integrates voice and video with the existing Convene app without compromising security.
